Hi, Could you introduce yourself?
Hello, my name is Geraldine Hernandez, I am from Venezuela and I’ve been living in Barcelona Spain for the last 6 years. I am a frontend developer with one and a half years of experience, I am currently studying to work as a Backend Developer.
My Background is in Psychology because I studied this degree at University, which I think brings a valuable perspective to the user experience
What are you working on?
I've been working as a Frontend Dev for a consulting company for almost a year
I am currently working on a personal projects and doing 100DaysOfCode challenge where I am learning C# with the .Net framework to expand my background in Backend
How did you get into your current field?
I studied Psychology and then I decided to do a masters degree in creativity in order to continue delving into my internal debates. It was there that I learned about topics such as design thinking,
The psychology of branding, and how a creator, in order to develop their work, owes a lot to communication.
At this stage, I finally began getting closer to synthesising what I was looking for in a more optimal way.
Then, while reflecting on the evolution of western society during the 20th and 21st century, I realised that we are developing something unparalleled in history. This, in other words, was the explosion of technology in creativity and communication. At this point, I awkwardly began to explore the different technologies that existed, but evidently, I needed something or someone to guide me.
Then I learned, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, which has all allowed me to create new and dynamic content.
I have worked with a number of JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular)and with Agile methodology, and created multimedia files and animated images.
What are your goals?
Becoming a FullStack Developer and in the future being able to teach others, I have as a passion teaching and communication

Do you have a mentor?

Do you mentor anyone?
Not yet. But that is one of my long-terms goals being able to mentor and motivate other people. But I must learn well first
Whats the best and worst advice you have received?
Best advice: The best way to predict the future is create it. And also “have discipline”.
Worst advice: calm there is time

I read Medium blogs, there are people who work very well as models and reach the heart, on instagram I follow @herhelloworld, I think that girl is an inspiring person to achieve goals as software engineer.
I like characters like Peter Thiel, Donald Trump, and Elon Musk.

Be open-minded to change, read blogs and trends, and program (in my case) with constantly, discipline and effort, have a clear goal and fight for it
