Could you introduce yourself to our readers?

I am @persistentprogrammer and I started coding about 6 years ago at University. At first I had a lot of difficulties. I kept trying and failing, but I never gave up. Today, I am a software developer at a bank and I focus on automating processes.

What are your goals?

My goals are to be constantly learning, building new products and encourage more women to code and enjoy software development.

What are you working on at the moment?

Right now I am learning how to build web apps with Python and filming tutorials on my Youtube channel to help other learn and grow: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpTo8a_5OeZkR9tEcwSBbAA?view_as=subscriber

What advice would you give to someone getting into tech?

Never give up, you can do it!

Who do you follow?

I follow a lot of tech youtube channels. cs50 shares free harvard lectures which are great for anyone who comes from a non-techical background but is interested in learning fundamentals and backend algorithms. I follow a number of females developers on youtube including The Come Up, Vicky's Daily Stand Up and My Tech Resume. Additionally I follow a number of women tech accounts on instagram and I am truly inspired by them.

What's the best way to keep up with what you are doing?

Don't be discouraged to start your account and grow it, even if you are a beginner. You can teach and influence other beginners as a beginner. Keep high engagement and be authentic.
